Ralph D. Rogers was born November 27, 1941 on Thanksgiving Day in Hamlin, Texas to Mattie and Fred Rogers.  He passed from this life on Friday, March 1, 2024. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Paramount Baptist Church, 3800 S. Western St., with Dr. Jeremy McMorris, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Monday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Ralph is survived by his wife Louise and three children, Teresa Meister and husband Mark of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, Mike and wife Tonya of Jacksonville, North Carolina, and Terrie Matthews and husband Mike of Bushland, Texas.  Ralph is also survived by six grandchildren, Kacie Matthews, Eric Matthews, Christopher Rogers, Amanda Rogers, Nicholas Rogers, and Justin Rogers, three step-grandchildren, Silas Powell, Landon Russett and Cain Wathal, four great-grandchildren, Adalynn Rogers, Aranyna Rogers, Kinsley Rogers and Everly Louise Rogers, and one sister Beverly Hodges.  He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Kenneth, and one sister Freddy Graddy.

Ralph married Louise, the love of his life, on October 13, 1962 in Carlsbad, New Mexico.  They celebrated 61 wonderful years of marriage.  Ralph was a devoted husband and father.  His three kids were his world. He loved spending time with them.  Louise was the center of his world.

Ralph was a member of Paramount Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and many other leadership positions.  Ralph accepted Jesus as his personal Savior at an early age and lived his life in obedience to His leadership.

Ralph was born in Texas but spent his teenage years in Carlsbad, New Mexico and graduated from Carlsbad High School with the class of 1960.  He went on to earn a Mechanical Engineering degree from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, New Mexico and a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Colorado University in Boulder, Colorado.

Upon graduation from New Mexico State Ralph went to work for Southwestern Public Service (SPS) in Amarillo, Texas as a Plant Engineer.  He served in various capacities for SPS and Utility Engineering retiring as Director of Purchasing and Contracts for Utility Engineering in 2004.

After retirement Ralph was very active with Texas Baptist Men Disaster Relief and the Paramount Baptist Church disaster relief team serving in many leadership positions including five years as Vice President, Disaster Relief for Texas Baptist Men.  Ralph was responsible for all of the “numbers” for Texas Baptist Men.  He carefully kept track of all TBM activities.  If anyone needed a report, Ralph was the person to contact.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to Paramount Baptist Church Disaster Relief team or Texas Baptist Men.
