Heaven has gained another practical joker! Randy Post, 63, of Amarillo, passed away Monday, October 16, 2017. A celebration of life service will be 2:00 pm Friday, October 20, 2017 at Cox Funeral Home Benton Chapel with Darrell Burton officiating. Randy, aka John to some, was born April 7, 1954, in Amarillo, to Virginia and Leslie Robert Post, Sr. He was of the Baptist belief. Randy retired from Xcel Energy after 44 years of service. He married Linda Dotts in Amarillo on July 25, 2013. In his younger days, when his children were small, he enjoyed coaching them in various sports. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. Some of his most memorable trips were catching a 28 lb catfish in Del Rio, as well as killing his first buffalo in 2011. He enjoyed gardening and would share the fruits of his labor with everyone. He liked going to Albuquerque to the Sandia Casino and Resort and loved joking and kidding around always trying to get the best of anyone. He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Morales. He is survived by his wife, Linda Dotts-Post of Amarillo; a daughter, Tosha Woodard of San Angelo; a special grandson, David Woodard, who taught Pa Pa how to cheat at Nintendo; his siblings, Ramona Maddox of Amarillo, Susie Middleton and husband Ross of Bushland, Bobby Post and wife Charlotte of Amarillo; his special adopted mom, Martha Wiseman of Amarillo; a special companion, Dino; and his nieces and nephews.
