Ray Dale Williams

August 11, 1935 — September 7, 2014

Ray was born on August 11, 1935 in Amherst to Raymond and Edna Williams. He moved to Hereford, where he graduated from Hereford High School in 1953. There, he married Joann Fillpot on July 25, 1953. Ray then enlisted in the United States Army in 1955. He served in Germany, Panama and twice in Korea before his honorable discharge after 20 years of service in 1975. Upon discharge, Ray began his employment at Auto Damage Appraisers in Amarillo, where he worked until his retirement at the age of 62. Ray loved golfing, bowling and enjoyed playing on the computer in his free time. He and Joann have been devoted members of First Baptist Church since 1988. He is survived by his wife, Joann Williams of Amarillo; daughter, Debra Knight of Phoenix, AZ; 2 grandchildren, Stephen Alexander Knight and Alexis Danelle Knight; 3 great grandchildren and his sister, Dorothy Thomas of Pasadena, TX. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Claude Williams.
