Raymond "Butch" Hall

Raymond “Butch” Hall, 80, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, December 7, 2021.  Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Dreamland Cemetery in Canyon with Dr. Mark Welshimer officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 7:00 PM Thursday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Butch was born March 28, 1941 in Austin, Texas to Pete and Becky Hall. He grew up working at his parents’ gas station in Wildorado. He graduated from Vega High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. Butch married Cindy Day on October 17, 1973 in Vega. He made his career as a telephone technician. He traveled all over the state with his job, retiring from GTE in 1998. He and Cindy were foster parents for 17 years. Butch served on the school board in Adrian. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing, hunting, model cars, model airplanes and beer! He also enjoyed spending time at the race track, and even worked on a pit crew. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Black of Frisco, Kim Hall Ballard and husband Kerry of White Deer, Dr. Amy Clifton and husband Landy of Canyon, and Lori Peterson and husband Mike of Amarillo; a son, Bill Hall and wife Lori of Silverton, TX; a brother, Charles Hall and Shirley Jean Mulherin of Amarillo; 13 grandchildren, Zach Ballard and wife Mandy, Trevor Ballard and wife Andrea, Josey Clifton, Karley Clifton, Michael Peterson, William Peterson, Gracie Peterson, Levi Boone, Lacy Boone, Danny Edwards, Donny Edwards, Keegan Hall, and Korbin Hall; and five great-grandchildren.
