Rena Annette (Low) Leake January 22, 1935 – February 2, 2024. Rena Annette (Low) Leake, age 89, a longtime resident of Amarillo passed away from this life in Amarillo on Friday, February 2, 2024 after battling a long-term illness. Graveside service will be at 11:00am, Friday, February 9, 2024 at Miami (Texas) Roberts County Cemetery, HWY US 60 with Reverend Josh Reeves officiating.  Arrangements are by Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Annette was born January 22, 1935 in Pampa, Texas to Dale and Eva Lee Low of Miami, Texas. She gave her heart to Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age at a revival in her home town. She graduated from Miami High School in 1952. In 1953 she married Felton Leake and together they had two boys. After her marriage to Felton, she moved to Amarillo in 1964 where she raised her two sons, James Leake (of Sarasota, Florida) and Craig Leake (of Amarillo). For years she was the Children’s Department Manager at the Hub Clothiers in Amarillo. Following that career, she was involved in the daycare of many young children in her home. This was her love and passion for many years. She was a handy carpenter as she remodeled her home on Richard Ave. with the help of her father, Dale Low. Annette was a member of St. Stephen’s United Methodist Church for many years.

Annette is preceded in death by her parents, Dale and Eva Lee Low, her sister, Jean Carole Low; one granddaughter, Brandi Leake; and the father of her children, James Felton Leake.

Annette is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Joel and Jean Low of Dallas; and a niece Angie (Low) Molina and her husband Mike also of Dallas. Her two sons, James Leake and wife Sandra of Sarasota, Florida; and Craig Leake of Amarillo. She has six grandchildren, Matthew Leake (and Kaitlyn) of Bradenton, Florida; Andrew Leake of Sarasota, Florida; Rebekah Abrahamson (and Josh) of Roswell, Georgia; Amber Leake of Amarillo; Brett Leake and wife Mica of Canyon; and Dekotah Leake of New Braunfels, Texas. She has twelve great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
