Rex “Bear” Sharber, 68, of Amarillo, walked into the arms of Jesus on Saturday May 14, 2022. The family is hosting a Memorial Party on Saturday May 28, 2022 at the family home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Rex was born on November 21, 1953 in Borger, to Billie and Betty Sharber. Rex graduated from Borger High school and later graduated from WT with his Bachelor’s degree. He married his wife & best friend, Susan in 1999 in Las Vegas. Rex was an avid fisherman who enjoyed being outdoors and spending time working on his yard. He was a handyman and enjoyed being a self-taught welder. Rex was always on the move, never willing to really retire and continued working until his death. Rex loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who affectionately called him “Bear”.
Rex was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents and older brother, Tracy.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Sharber of the home; three sons - Michael Sharber (& wife Kim) of Canyon, Daniel Sharber (& wife Rachael) of Burleson and Jonathan Traylor (& wife Megan) of Borger; one sister, Lynette King of Amarillo; one brother, Tony Sharber (& wife Brenda) of Glen Rose; one sister-in-law, Jackie Shupe of Louisiana; one brother-in-law, Howard Burns of Maryland; ten grandchildren - Clifton (Tank), Airen, Chase, Michaela, Jaycee, Archer, Cyrus, Caden, Declan and Berkley. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews and extended family, as well as his life-long friend, Rob.
Rex was a great man. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend and he will be greatly missed by all who had the blessing of knowing him.
