Rick Lovett

Rick Lovett, 66, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Friday, January 2, 2026 at Hillside Christian Church – NW Campus, 600 Tascosa Rd. with Pastor Chris Condit officiating.

Rick was born November 20, 1959 in Amarillo, Texas to Leroy and Dixie Lovett. He made welding his career and was an extremely talented welder and fabricator. Rick was a contract welder in his earlier years, doing work for many refineries. He landed at Howell Sand Co. over 25 years ago and has been there ever since. Rick was an ornery guy who always enjoyed pulling a good prank on someone and making people laugh. Most importantly, Rick loved spending time with his grandkids. He will be greatly missed by his family, coworkers and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father.

Survivors include his son, Austin Lovett and wife Ashton of Amarillo; his mother, Dixie Tarango and husband Ruperto; his significant other, Jo Rodriguez of Amarillo; his step-children, James Jackson, Jessica Myers, Ashley Jackson and Blane Wright; a sister, Joyce Naylor and husband Bruce of Amarillo; two brothers, Roy Lovett and wife Lynda of Claude, and Randy Lovett of Amarillo; and two grandchildren, Reese Lovett and Caedon Jackson.
