Rickie Hastie, 67, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, December 25, 2020. Rickie will be available for viewing from 2:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 PM Monday at the funeral home. Rickie was born in Amarillo to Earl and Delese Hastie. He attended Amarillo High School. He went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Air Force for eight years. Rickie married the love of his life, Sharon on May 23, 1998 in Amarillo. He worked at various places before starting at the Amarillo Airport in 1998, where he was a heavy equipment mechanic, retiring in 2012. In his spare time, Rickie enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, and riding his motorcycle. Survivors include two sons, Thomas Hastie of Bath, NY, and Joseph Penoyer of Pennsylvania; a daughter, Angela Hardy and husband Rob of Amarillo; his twin brother, Mickie Hastie and wife Susie of Amarillo; two sisters, Beverly Lindeman and husband Jim of Amarillo and Marla Williams of Houston; and a brother, Leslie Hastie of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Amber England and Aeron Penoyer; and four great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, at www.stjude.org; or to Shriners Hospitals for Children, at www.shrinershospitalsforchildren.org.
