Robert Casas, 92, of Amarillo, passed away on July 12, 2024. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday July 17, 2024 at Northside United Pentecostal Church, 2424 N Mirror St. with Pastor Rodger Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday July 16, 2024 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Robert was born on January 4, 1932 in San Antonio, Texas to Pedro and Maria Casas. Robert moved from San Antonio to Dumas in 1945 when he was thirteen years old. He married his sweetheart, Bonnie Inman on June 30, 1956 in Allison, Texas and they then made a home in Amarillo that same year. Together they have celebrated 68 years of marriage.
Robert worked as a masonry contractor for over 40 years and also owned his own company, Casas Construction; He retired in 2002. Robert has been a dedicated member of Northside United Pentecostal Church. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He found most joy in spending time with his family and also loved to play the guitar. Robert was loved by many and will be missed.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; his four brothers, Ray Casas, Pedro Casaz Jr., Roger Casaz and Daniel Casas; his sister, Angelina Gueuara.
Survivors include his wife, Bonnie Casas of the home; two daughters, Carmen Gardner and husband Jimmy of Houston and Eyvonne Gallegos and husband Louis of Dalhart; one sister, Ellen Casaz; four grandchildren, Craig Gardner (Jenè), Carrie Booth (Nathan), Phylicia Vorasane (Sunny) and Amanda Gonzalez (Jose) and eleven great grandchildren. Survivors also include a host of extended family, his church family and close friends.
