Robert Connelly

Robert Lee Connelly 76, of Amarillo went to be with His Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Friday March 8, 2019.

Robert “Bob” Connelly was born to Clyde and Melissa (Stevens) Connelly January 29,1943 in Phillips, Texas.

He was married to Celia Widener in Borger, Texas on January 28, 1968

Bob was a Supervisor for Washington Group International, working in the construction of powerhouses, in many states across the nation.

As a young man he was proud to have been a pitcher in the minor leagues of the New York Yankees, until a game injury, to his arm, ended his career.

Bob had such a wonderful sense of humor and made all who knew him, love him and enjoy being around him. His interests and knowledge of old cars and sports always made for enjoyable conversations with Bob. He was an excellent cook and enjoyed it tremendously. He was devoted to his family, and a loyal, funny, and entertaining friend.

He is survived by spouse Celia Connelly, daughters Christy Connelly, Melissa Hill and husband Chris. Grandchildren Joshua and Courtney(Brown) Connelly, and Seth Phillis, Destiny Escamilla and husband Justin, Shaylee Connelly, Carissa Hill, Gavin Hill and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and 2 brothers, Steve and Kent Connelly.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later time. Please make all memorials to your church or favorite charity.

Bob was greatly loved and will be missed by all.
