Robert "Eddie" Davis

Robert "Eddie" Davis, 69, of Amarillo passed away Friday, May 11, 2018. Memorial services will be held 10:00am Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at St. Hyacinth Church, 4500 Westhills Trail. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00pm Monday, May 14, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. Eddie was born January 9, 1949 in Brownsville, TN to Robert and Louise Davis. He graduated from Ripley High School in Tennessee in 1967. Eddie proudly served for three years in the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He married the love of his life, Mary on March 23, 1968. They moved to Amarillo in 1968, where he owned and operated Amtex TV for 15 years. He then worked for Bell Helicopter for many years and retired in 2011. Eddie enjoyed restoring cars, fishing and hunting. He loved touring the United States on his motorcycle trike with his wife. Eddie will be greatly missed. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice, especially his nurse, Tina. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother Ray Davis. Survivors include, his wife Mary Davis of Amarillo; one daughter, Christy Johnson and husband Doug of Amarillo; five sisters; Shirley Simpson and husband Bill, Janie Lowin and husband Jim, Cathy Adams, Debbie Head and husband Mickey, Annette Sartain and husband Calvin all of Amarillo; five grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson, Tracie Johnson, Cody Johnson and wife Eshe, Stephanie Wells and husband Ray, Ryan Milam; and five great grandchildren.
