Robert Goodson

July 6, 1938 — February 12, 2018

Bob was born on July 6, 1938 in Graham, TX to Vernon and Vicki Goodson. He moved to Amarillo as a child, where he graduated from Amarillo High School in 1956. He then enlisted in the United States Army, proudly serving until his honorable discharge. Bob married Ann Gregory on October 29, 1971 in Abilene. The two of them settled in Amarillo, where Bob worked in banking for over 40 years. He began his career at Bank Central, serving as Vice President at the time of his retirement. After retirement from Bank Central, Bob began employment at City Federal Credit Union, where he worked as a loan officer, retiring in 2000. Bob enjoyed golfing, playing the guitar and frequent poker nights with friends and family. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. Most of all, he loved his family. He enjoyed watching his sons and grandsons play football and cherished time spent with his family. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Ann Goodson of Amarillo; 3 sons, Timothy "Bo" Goodson and Lisa of Wylie, Greg Goodson and wife Sheala of Amarillo and Mike Goodson and Angie of Amarillo; daughter, Tina Goodson Colbert and husband Todd of Amarillo; 5 grandchildren, Derek Goodson,Taylor Goodson Hagen Goodson and Johnny Wilson all of Amarillo and Angela Taylor and 2 great grandchildren, Asher and Dani Lee Martin. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; step-father, Jim Davis; step-mother, Sadie Goodson; granddaughter, Kaylana and daughter-in-law, Rebecca and several aunts, uncles and close friends. The family requests that floral arrangements be sent to the funeral home for Bob's visitation.
