Robert "Bob" Victor Kieckhaefer

Robert Victor "Bob" Kieckhaefer, 95, of Amarillo, died Friday, June 9, 2017. Services will be held at a later time. Bob was born in Freeport, Illinois to Walter and Abigail Kieckhaefer. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force as a pilot from 1940-1966. He served during WWII and the Korean War. After his retirement from the Air Force, he was vice president of William Lyon Home Construction in Fullerton, CA for about ten years. He piloted for that company as well. He was a pilot for the state of New Mexico for a time. He also worked for the IRS as a business agent. Bob earned his master's in business administration from Pepperdine University. Flying was Bob's passion. His happiest times were when he was flying an aircraft. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lillian Rang in 2016. Survivors include a son, Bill Kieckhaefer and wife Pat of Laguna Niguel, CA; a daughter, Mary Ann Stankovsky of Kingwood; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure, 5005 LBJ Freeway, Sute #250, Dallas, TX 75244.
