Roger Owen Dunn

Roger Dunn, 79, of Dumas, Texas passed away on Monday July 10, 2023. Memorial services will be held Sunday, July 16, 2023 at 2:00PM at Hunt United Methodist Church in Dumas, Texas. Burial will be held at a later date in Georgia.

Roger was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Earl and Ermanell Dunn on December 14, 1943. He proudly served in The US Army from March 3, 1961 to March 2, 1964. When he came home he met the love of his life; he just didn’t know it. He met Charlotte Henry in Dumas, Texas when he went to visit his sister Lynn. Charlotte stole his heart over and egg sandwich and a glass of milk. They lived in Dumas, Texas then moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma before settling in Georgia to raise their kids.

Roger was a man that could do so many things and he did in his life. From working in a candy factory, teaching electrical college, installing alarm systems all over Georgia, to teaching himself to be a locksmith. He could do anything!! Roger made friends everywhere he went and will be missed greatly by so many.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife Charlotte; his father Earl; his mother Ermanell, his brother Kenneth; and his grandparents.

Roger and Charlotte had four children, 12 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren. One daughter, Shelley of Dumas, Texas; sons Rick and wife Teresa if Newnan, Georgia, Ron and wife Gina of Locust Grove, Georgia, and Rob and wife Lynn of Nicholson, Georgia. Grandchildren, Zach, Jordan, Thomas, Noah, Blake, April, Eddie, Amber, Britany, Brandy, William, and Anna. Great-grandchildren, Bexley, Beckett, Jocelyn, Jaxon, Taos, Conner, Tucker, Charlotte, Isabelle, Sailor, Levi, Autumn, and Clover. Sisters, Pam LeGrand, Pauline Rheums, Lynn Still, and brother Tony Dunn. So many loved nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
