Ron Briggs

Ron Briggs, 70, of Amarillo, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Thursday at Cox Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Dr. Burial will be at Llano Cemetery. Ron was born January 31, 1948 in Borger to Bevel and Mary Briggs. He graduated from Borger High School. He earned his BA in business marketing from West Texas State University. He was captain of food service for TDCJ at the Clements Unit, and retired in 2009. He was also a CPA, and worked for several years as a tax advisor. Ron was a 32nd degree mason, and was a member of the FM & AM Masonic Lodge #1242 in Borger. He was a member of the NRA, and enjoyed skeet shooting in his spare time. He loved his two little westies, "Cracker" and "Ivory". He was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife, Eva Briggs; four sons, Kevin Briggs of Justin, Jody Briggs of Amarillo, Trey Briggs of The Colonies, and Duane Pattie of Amarillo; two daughters, Mary Ann Ellis of Shawnee, Okla., and Angela Pullen of Corpus Christi; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
