Ronald "Ronnie" Shores

Ronald “Ronnie” Shores, 81, of Amarillo, passed away on Friday, November 26, 2021. Funeral services will be held on 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 01, 2021 at Hillside Christian Church, south Campus with Pastor Johnathan Mast officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Ronnie was born on September 29, 1940 to James and Lucy Shores. He grew up with three brothers and three sisters. He eventually met and married Connie Rae Bowman and spent 61 and ½ wonderful years happily married. Together they had two sons, Jeff and John and two daughters, Jodi and Jami. Ronnie loved spending time with his family, especially with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing bingo, and watching sports, especially University football. He loved to watch the University of Missouri and University of Nebraska football games. His number one baseball team was the Cardinals. Ronnie loved to watch his children and grandchildren play sports and was always in the seats to cheer them on. He was deeply loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

Ronnie is preceded in death by, his parents and three brothers, Richard, Daniel and Roger Shores; one brother in law, Duane Bowman.

He is survived by, his wife Connie Shores of the home; two sons, Jeff Shores of Amarillo, and John Shores and Amy of Savannah Missouri; two daughters, Jodi Shores of Amarillo, and Jami Foust and husband Rick of Amarillo; 7 grandchildren, Destini and husband Will, Jessi and Fiancé Anna, Jake, Baillie, Brae and wife Ashley, Brendon and Saybra, Ashley and husband Lionel; two great-grandchildren, Daxton and Ashton; three sisters, Doris Goben, Evelyn Gotshall, and Karen Kernes and their spouses; three brother-in-law’s, Roger Bowman, Kenny Bowman, and David Bowman and their spouses and sister in law, Linda Bowman.

Ronnie also leaves behind his schnauzer “Sam”, who was more than just a dog to Ronnie, they were “best buds”.
