Ronnie Emanuel

Ronnie Emanuel, 77, of Amarillo, passed away Monday, August 28, 2017. Ronnie was born February 1, 1940, in Amarillo, to Vernon and Rose Emanuel. He was a 1958 graduate of Amarillo High, and also attended Amarillo College. He married Fern Fitzgerrel in Amarillo on January 24, 1992. He worked for State Farm Insurance, as an agent, for 20 years, before becoming vice president of Great Western Directories. He was a Mason, a member of the Scottish Rite, and a member of the Khiva Shrine for over 50 years, serving as a past president of the drum and bugle corps. He was also a founding member of the Duffers. He was passionate about golfing, loved panning for gold, enjoyed camping and traveling. He is preceded in death by his parents, Vernon and Rose Emanuel. He is survived by his wife, Fern; 2 daughters, Kimberley Rutherford and husband Keith of Wildorado, Kelly Vogler and husband Mark of Amarillo; 6 grandchildren, Dr. Tara Rutherford Lawless and husband Justin, Jason David Joos and wife Mindy, Haley Rutherford Smith and husband Dr. Scott Smith, Kaitlin Rutherford, Catherine Vogler and Hayden Vogler; 2 step children, Mary Elizabeth Wyatt and husband Bobby, Darvin Nix and wife Tonya; 4 step grandchildren, Tanner Wyatt, Collin Wyatt and wife Staci, Evinn Wyatt and husband Dalton Rice, Mackenzie Nix; 6 great grandchildren, Colton and Addison Lawless, Braelyn Joos, Archer Smith, and Hays, Grady and Quincy Wyatt; also surviving him are 2 siblings, Joe Emanuel and wife Lynda of Wichita Falls and Betty Jean Waldo and husband Paul of Cypress, TX. The family suggests memorials be made to a charity of your choice .
