He was born and raised in Slaton, Texas, and in fun liked to remind us he was voted Mr. Slaton High. He met the love of his life when Lois Ann Mobley, Loisy to him, came to visit her brother there. They were married March 6, 1959, and together raised four children in Amarillo. He loved playing softball with his church league for many years and was an avid Texas Longhorn fan and a Texas Rangers baseball fan. His entire career was spent with Sante Fe Railroad and he retired from there in 1994. He was a member of Southwest Church of Christ for over 50 years and had many good friends there. All who knew him knew of his love for his wife and family. He lived a life full of character and integrity and taught each of us love and kindness.
