Ruth Talley

Ruth was born June 6, 1940 in Newton, KS to Glenn and Velma Barnett. She grew up in Newton, moving to Amarillo in 1957. Ruth was self-employed as a hairdresser for 35 years. Since 2012, she has worked for Walmart. She enjoyed square dancing, and she adored her special dog, Little Girl. Ruth was a member of Arden Road Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Pam Glenn and husband Ronnie, and Kathy Cook all of Amarillo; one son, Vernon Talley, Jr. and wife Ginny of Amarillo; her ex-husband and father of her children, Vernon Talley, Sr. of Amarillo; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Donavan Briar; and a grandson, Christian Cook. The family suggests memorials be made to Faith City Mission, 401 SE 2nd Ave, Amarillo, Texas 79101.
