Ruth M. Tucker

Ruth M. Tucker, 66, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, March 5, 2024. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive, with Pastor Bryan Tackett of Hillcrest Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 7:00 PM Friday at the funeral home.

Ruth was born June 29, 1957 in Amarillo, Texas to Jerry and Flo Tucker. She graduated from Tulia High School in 1975. She worked for Freeman’s Flowers, Kelley Roofing and Discount Fence as a bookkeeper. She went on to become a registered massage therapist, and was a member of Panhandle Area Massage Professionals. She was a member of Hillside Christian Church.

Ruth was an incredible joke teller; the worse the jokes the more she liked them! She enjoyed reading, scrapbooking and watching crime dramas on TV. Ruth was an avid animal lover and leaves behind her beloved dog, Penny. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, John Walter Tucker.

Survivors include her sister by choice, Dianne Whitmire; two aunts, Jeanette Poole (Wayne), and Ann Billington; two uncles, Tem Tucker (Mary), and Valton Tucker (Vicki); her cousins, Lisa Love (Chris), Lance Poole (Lorraine), Paula Stiles (Tom), Kim Guthrie (Jeff), Cindy Davis (Jett), Forrest Curtis, Bryan Curtis, Tommy Tucker, Tia Tucker, Tami Wilkins, Terry Tucker, Nancy Finck, Boyd Billington, and Jerry Billington (Tommie).
