Sandra Lee Vandivere

Sandy was born on October 22, 1955 in Marion, Indiana to Karl and Martha King. She was raised in Indiana, graduating Blackford High School in Hartford City, IN in 1974. She moved to Texas in 1982, settling in Amarillo in 1984. Sandra worked at Baptist St. Anthony's Hospital in the cafeteria for over 15 years, before joining her husband Stan teamdriving semi-trucks. She and Stan married on January 12, 2002 in Amarillo. Sandy was a devoted wife, spending most of her time with Stan, traveling, volunteering and serving their church, where she has been a member since 2003. She loved to crochet, was an excellent cook and enjoyed singing and playing the piano. Sandra and Stan volunteered for the Kairos Prison Ministry in Childress for many years, where she would share her faith as well as her homemade cookies with prisoners. Above all, Sandra loved her Lord, her family and her little dog, Scooter! She is survived by her husband, Stanley Vandivere of Amarillo; 2 step children, Sherri Callery and husband Garth of Amarillo and Stanley "Duce" Vandivere, Jr.of Amarillo; 2 sisters, Evelyn Watson of Hackett, AR and Bobbi King and spouse Anita Peden of Keller; 7 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 2 nieces, 3 nephews; 2 great nieces and 2 great nephews and 3 great-great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and her stepdaughter, Tracie Vandivere.
