Sarah Juanita Johnson, 84, of Amarillo, passed away on Wednesday February 10, 2021. Memorial service will be 2:00 PM Friday February 12, 2021 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Reverend Jeff Pies officiating. The family will receive friends on Thursday February 11, 2021 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Sarah was born on October 22, 1936 in Paris, Texas to J.R. and Liddie Wells. She was the youngest of 12 children. Sarah married Harrel Johnson on November 28, 1958 and has been a part of the Amarillo community since 1963. Sarah was the owner and operator of the Green Lawn Sprinklers Co. alongside her husband for 18 years. She enjoyed traveling and drove Jack B Kelley Trucks with her husband. Sarah was an avid gardener, a loving homemaker and loved her seven children with all her heart. Her children remember how she always had a shovel in her hands ready to dig in the dirt and plant flowers. She will be missed by many.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Harrel Johnson; a daughter, Kristi McGrath; one step-son, Wayne Johnson; and 10 brothers and sisters.

Survivors include 2 sons, Mike Johnson (Ronda), and Duane Etheridge (Carol); four daughters, Vickie White (Bill), Teresa Crich (Richie), Brenda Rich (Shane) All of Amarillo and Denise Vasquez (Hector) of Holdenville, Oklahoma; 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
