Selena Hart, 67, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, August 12, 2025. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 18, 2025, at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Pastor Corky Holland officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.
Selena was born on February 15, 1958, in Pampa to William and Alice Lewis. She graduated from Caprock High School, class of ’75. Selena married her husband, James Hart, on July 24, 1984, and together they celebrated 41 years of marriage. She worked as a V-22 Osprey aviation mechanic for 15 years until she retired.
Selena was an avid quilter who also did embroidery. She loved spending time camping and planning vacations for her family. She grew up traveling to Yellowstone National Park as a girl and continued similar traditions with her own family. Easter was spent at Red Rock Canyon, and Memorial Day Weekend was often spent in Colorado. She cared deeply for her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Selena loved the Lord, was a devoted Christian and loved the Baptist church.
Selena was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Richard Lewis; and one stepdaughter, Christina Smith.
Survivors include her husband, James Hart of the home; her son, Shawn Hawkins, and wife, Marivell, of Amarillo; one stepson, Joshua Hart; one stepdaughter, Charlie Hart, both of Amarillo; two brothers, John Lewis of Amarillo and Bill Lewis of Aardvark, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Free Hawkins (Juan), Seth Carruth, Alexandria Smith, Dustin Carruth, Samantha Smith, Benjamin Smith, Victoria Hart, and Brittney Shirley; and five great-grandchildren, Lanna Hawkins, Liberty West, Lachlan Leevers Jr, Lazaro Rioz, and Marleigh Gonzales.
