Seren Janae Wilson, daughter, sister, granddaughter, cousin, niece, tia, and friend: Seren Janae Wilson was something special to everyone in her world and everything to some of us who knew her simply as ours. Her beautiful light filled every room she entered, and it is with profound sadness that we share in her absence from this earth to enter the presence of our Lord May 1, 2026. A Celebration of Life services are scheduled for 11:00 AM Saturday May 9, 2026 at Hillside Christian Church, 6100 S Soncy, with Pastor Manny De Los Santos and Pastor Greg Corona officiating. The family asks that the guest be dressed in bright colors and soft pastels.
Born July 7th 2006, to parents Carla and Damon, Seren brought such a light to our lives we never knew we were missing but simply cannot remember a world without. Even now, her light is still surrounding us like a torch passed on to be carried by every life she touched. Her determination, dedication, and drive for her passions was evident and reflected in her many awards and recognitions across the board, from academics to athletics to character. Once she set her mind to something, she was committed to being her best. But more than all of her accomplishments put together, we remember her most by the impact she left on those around her. A warrior on and off the court, masterful cheater at cards, professional connoisseur of take-out, and the life of every gathering, no matter how large or small, Seren's presence was always so welcoming and warm. She did not make friends; she collected found family. Her unwavering love for her people may show up in her fierce protection of loved ones or quiet presence when you needed her nearby, and was always exactly what was needed most. Though our hearts ache for time we feel robbed of, Seren lived her life so fiercely and fully. She was unapologetic in the humble confidence in which she carried herself, which reflected an earned maturity far beyond her years. We could not be more proud of the beautiful, chaotic at times, colorful, always intentionally incredible life she lived with the time she was given.
She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Carlos W. Dyer.
Survivors include her mother Carla Dyer; her father Damon Wilson; her sisters, Avianna Campolla; Rosalia Zombrano; and Tierra Gaytan and her husband Orlando; her nephews Nyjah and Ezeriah Gaytan; both of her grandmothers, Janie Wilson; Linda Carvajal and her grandfather Juan Carvajal. Survivors also include a host of many cousins, tios and tias that were more like siblings than extended family.
