Sharon Rose Brooks

Sharon Brooks, 82, of Amarillo passed away Friday, January 17, 2020. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at Lifeway Fellowship Baptist Church with Pastor Randy Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Sharon was born December 19, 1937 in Amarillo to Marty and Candace Johnson. She married Bob Brooks in May of 1955 in Amarillo. Sharon enjoyed fishing and spending time with her church family. Sharon was a faithful member of Lifeway Fellowship Baptist Church and served there by teaching a preschool class for more than 30 years. She was a wonderful caretaker who deeply loved her family. She adored her grandkids and great-grandkids and never missed a kid’s game. Sharon was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Brooks and a son Rickey Allen Brooks. She is survived by a son, Ronnie “Rusty” Brooks and wife Loretta of Amarillo; a daughter, Rhonda “D’Ann” Brooks of Amarillo; four grandkids, Justin and Brooke Wren, Jason Brooks and wife Mary Liz and Janea “Sissy” Wright and husband Ricky and four great-grandkids, Jared and Jaycie Wright and Lauren and Colin Brooks. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Lifeway Fellowship Baptist Church, 3315 Hancock Street, Amarillo, Texas 79106.
