Sharon Latham

Sharon Latham, 74, of Amarillo, passed away on Thursday, August 31, 2023. Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Coulter Road Baptist Church, 4108 Coulter St., with Pastor Mike Dickey officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends during a time of visitation from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Monday, September 4, 2023 at Coulter Road Baptist Church.

Sharon was born October 23, 1948 in Hereford, Texas to Bill and Thelma Lamm. She graduated from Hereford High School. She married her husband, Hugh Latham on September 6, 1978 in Amarillo. He preceded her in death in 2022, after 43 years of marriage. Sharon worked as a florist for Ray’s Flowers in Amarillo and H.R.’s Flowers in Canyon. Sharon taught floral design classes at Amarillo College for several years. She created beautiful florals for and coordinated many weddings and other special events.

Sharon and Hugh were longtime members of Coulter Road Baptist Church. Sharon served in several capacities at the church over the years. She cooked for Wednesday night meals and served as wedding coordinator. She also loved teaching the kids at art camp. She played Bunko in the same group for many years. Sharon loved to go to the casinos. Sharon and Hugh enjoyed lots of activities with their grandkids, including hosting “Christmas Sleepovers” at their house. Sharon will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hugh Latham; and a step-son, Russell Latham.

Survivors include four daughters, Kyla Grover of Lubbock, Katrina Sirmon (Paul) of Ft. Worth, Karen Fox (John) of Amarillo, and Tammy Latham (Summer) of Fritch; a brother, Alton Lamm of Dalton, GA; 12 grandchildren, Shayla Neptune, Kaleb Neptune (Selena), Justin Villegas (Vanessa), Bryanna Gonzales (Isaac), Edison Sirmon, Amber Harper (Sage), Haley Fox, Jeremy Latham (Audrey), Kyle Latham (Ashley), Shanda Evans (Erik), Ashton McFeron (Bryan) and Jacob Latham (Cheyanne); and 18 great-granchildren, with one coming soon.

The family suggests memorials may be made to Coulter Road Baptist Church.
