Sherman Lynn Kitch, 80, of Amarillo, walked into the arms of Jesus on Monday, July 24th. A Celebration of Life gathering will be held on Saturday 29th at 10:00am at Cornerstone Church, 505 S. Tennessee, Amarillo, Texas with Pastor Jim Loper officiating. Burial will be at Dreamland Cemetery located in Canyon, Texas.
Sherman was born on December 1, 1942, in Larned, Kansas to Glayd & Thelma Kitch. He worked for most of his life as a general manager of retail stores. Sherman enjoyed walking, puzzles and making new friends wherever he went. He never met a stranger he couldn’t turn into a friend. Most importantly he loved his family & enjoyed spending time with his children & grand kids. Church and serving Jesus was the foundation of his life. Sherman was loved by so many & will be missed.
Sherman was preceded in death by his father, Glayd Kitch, his mother Thelma Kitch and his wife Lila Kitch.
Survivors include his daughter Renee Whitaker & her husband James Whitaker of Amarillo, his son, Randy Kitch and wife Samantha Kitch of Kansas City, Missouri and son Rob Kitch and Shelley Montgomery of Haltom City, Texas; nine grandchildren, Reagan, Nick, Riley, Kenedi, Trew, Madison, Tyler, Caison, Ashley and three great-grandchildren. Survivors also include a host of extended family & close friends.
