Sherry Lavon Dobson

Sherry was born on February 15, 1958 in Amarillo. She was raised by her parents, J.R. and Joan Bracken as an "army brat," moving frequently throughout her childhood. She lived in Florida for a few years and eventually settled in Amarillo, where she devoted her life to being a mother and caring for her family. Sherry loved angels and butterflies and was known to have a green thumb in the garden and jam out to R&B and Hip-Hop music. She enjoyed riding on her Harley, wind in her hair. Most of all, she loved her Lord and passed on her faith to her children. She is survived by her daughter, Faith Dobson; son, J. Dobson; father, J.R. Bracken and wife Tammy; grandson, Elishah Dobson; daughter, Carolyn Marentes; sister, Shelly O'Grady and husband Pat, all of Amarillo and Staci Juchniewicz of Rio Linda, CA; significant other, Cruz Marentes of Amarillo; her nephew, Brandon O'Grady and her "adopted" daughter, Melissa Ivey She was preceded in death by her mother, Joan Bracken and Grandparents, Tim and Nancy Castle, and great grandparents Melba and Leo Bracken.
