Sherry Driver

Sherry Lynn Driver, 65, of Amarillo passed away on August 3, 2023. Celebration of life Services will be 11:00 AM, Tuesday August 8, 2023 at Hillside Christian Church Chapel, 6100 Soncy Road with Jim McKee officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley Funeral Home.

Sherry was born September 3, 1957 in Dumas Texas to Harold and Mary Joyce Henderson. Sherry grew up in Sunray Texas and she loved it there; she had a deep appreciation and love for her home town. Sherry married the love of her life, Ronnie Driver on July 4, 1981 in Shamrock, together they loved four daughters and a son, Robin, Misti, Niki, Kelley and Rodney.

She was a dedicated member of Hillside Christian Church, where she was lovingly known as the hat lady. She loved Jesus and was passionate about sharing his love with others. The Meals on Wheels ministry was close to her heart as it allowed her to love on those in need. Sherry worked as a surgical tech for Panhandle Surgery for 20 years. She enjoyed being outside with her chickens, finding good antiques and putting together gatherings for her friends and family.

Sherry was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Joyce Henderson; a daughter Kelley Gaskey; one grandson Colby Gaskey and her best friend, Phyllis LaRue.

Survivors include her husband Ronnie Driver, of the home; her father, Harold Henderson and wife Ferol, of Grove OK; one son Rodney Driver and wife Tammy all of Stephenville TX; three daughters, Robin Vines and husband Evan of Dumas TX, Misti Nichols and husband Frank of Stephenville TX and Niki Jinkins and husband Gerhardt of Amarillo; two brothers, David Henderson and wife Annette of Kansas City and Stuart Henderson and wife Gina of Jay, OK; 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. Survivors also include numerous nieces, nephews and her faithful companion, Ross.
