Shirley Cowart

Shirley Cowart 75, of Amarillo passed away on October 27, 2022 in Amarillo. A Memorial service will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10 am at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Corona officiating. Shirley was born in Lamesa, Texas to William and Martha Griffin. She graduated from Lamesa High School in 1965. She married the love of her life Ronald L. Cowart in 1965, they spent many wonderful years together until Ronald’s passing in 2013.  She was a loving, kind and generous person who loved her family especially her grandchildren. In her free time she enjoyed go-karting, bowling and mini golf. In her younger days she played volleyball and softball. She was a manager and a clerk at Mr. Gas and Shiloh Inn Hotel for many years.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; husband Ronald; siblings Lola Caney; Billy Griffin; Martha Paul and Betty Singleton.

Left to cherish her memory is her son Courtney Cowart and wife Susan. Grandchildren Zackary; Kaiden; Caitlyn and Carter. A sister Dorothy Bolton and brother Larry Griffin along with other loving family members and friends.
