Shirley Hearn Kyle

April 20, 1931 — November 23, 2016

Shirley was born in Perryton to Margaret and Emil Hearn. She graduated from Perryton High School and attended West Texas State College. Shirley worked for First National Bank in Wheeler. After moving to Amarillo in 1974, she worked as a receptionist at Dr. Posey's dermatology office. She then was assistant manager at Wellington Manor Apartments, where she met her husband, John. They were married on October 16, 1982 in Amarillo. Shirley loved horses when she was growing up, and competed in barrel racing. She was a competitive card player. To say that she loved going to garage sales was an understatement. She was known to many as the "garage sale goddess". Shirley enjoyed sports, and closely followed her grandson, Jace's sporting events. She and John enjoyed square dancing and were in the River Road Curly Q's. They also enjoyed spending winters in her RV in south Texas. She is survived by her husband, John Kyle; her daughter, Sally Fincher and husband Jimmy of Amarillo, and their son, Jace Fincher and fiancé Jordan Walker; two sons, David Brown and wife Julia of Cedar Park, and Rick Kyle of Farmington, NM; four grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the Salvation Army, 1090 Coronado Circle, Amarillo, TX 79007 or Faith City Ministries, 401 SE 2nd Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79101.
