Sondra Kay "Sonni" Spear

Sonni was born in Wellington December 29, 1940 to Jimmye and Peck White. She was raised in Wellington and graduated from Wellington High School in 1959, and then graduated from Draughon's Business College. She married Walter Spear in 1959 and they have been committed to their love for one another for 56 years. Sonni was also committed to her friends and family and a dedicated member to the church. She even showed love to acquaintances and strangers and became known for deeds of kindness to so many. Although she was presented many medical obstacles throughout her life, she always persevered and never missed a moment to make someone else feel good. She was honored in 1991 by the JC Penney Co. with the "Spirit of Loving" award after the first of three battles with cancer. The number of lives she touched is countless, but we will all remember her as the wonderfully perfect wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend that she was. She is preceded in death by her parents Peck and Jimmye White. She is survived by her husband, Walter Spear of Amarillo; daughter, Kimi Spear and Kim Arterburn of Houston; son, Kirk Spear and wife Misty of Pampa; six grandchildren, Hailey Amos and husband Mackey, Heather Spear, Dustin Spear, Maddie, Mason and Logan; five great grandchildren, Isaiah, Brenly, Makena, Adyson and Avyrie; brother, Butch White and wife Mary Beth of Hereford; two nieces, Markay, Cosper and husband Ken and their 3 children and Stacy Vogel and husband Ricky and their 2 children.
