Joey was born Sept. 12, 1982, at Eglin Air Force Base in Niceville, Fla. He moved to Amarillo as a child and graduated from Amarillo High School in 2001. He was serving as a drill sergeant in the Army. Joey is our hero. He served in the Iraq War from 2004 to 2005, where he saved his compound from an Iraqi mortar attack.
He married his wife, Jennifer, on Nov. 1, 2008. He was an amazing, loving husband, father, son, brother and friend to so many, as well as being a member of the local Masonic fraternity and Khiva Shrine. Joey was a motorcyclist, Mixed Martial Arts fighter and Mr. Fix-it for all things mechanical. He worked as a drill sergeant in the Army as well as an electrician for Xcel Energy.
Joey embodied the core values of honor, integrity, family, protector and faith. He will be greatly missed by so many who loved and knew him.
