Stanley Green, Jr., 93, of Amarillo, passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. Memorial services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday January 10, 2025 in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary, 1208 S. Tyler St., with Dr. Howard Batson officiating. The family will be accepting friends from 5:00-7:00 PM Thursday January 9, 2025 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Drive.

Stanley was born May 5, 1931 in Lamar, Colorado to Stanley Green, Sr. and Oma Green.  He graduated from Phillips High School in 1949.   He enlisted in the United States Navy where he served honorably from February 1951 to February 1955.  During his time in the Naval service he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.   Soon after enlisting, Stanley married Wyanette Caldwell on April 29, 1951 in Phillips, Texas.  They were married until her death in 2021 just shy of their 70th anniversary.

Stanley had a diverse career, working as a business owner, retail manager, and regional insurance representative; eventually retiring from John Fountain Tailors. After retirement he worked part time in his favorite role as a golf marshal. In each role, he brought hard work and dedication, always excelling and leaving a lasting impact on everyone he worked with and customers he served.

Stanley was a member of First Baptist Church, faithfully serving in the preschool ministry every Sunday morning alongside his wife.  Some of his happiest moments were spent fishing and camping with his son and grandchildren, creating cherished memories in the wilds of Colorado. He had a lifelong passion for golf, enjoying the challenge and companionship it brought. He was also an avid football fan enjoying game days with his family.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.  Stanley was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Wyanette.  Survivors include a son, Mark Green and wife Jana of Amarillo, TX; three daughters, Debbie Hall and husband Steve of Clermont, FL, Cindy Naugher and husband David of Lubbock, TX, and Melissa Adams and husband Michael of Hutto, TX; 12 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. The family would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff at The Craig Senior Living Center for their dedicated care and kindness to Stanley in the last years of his life.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church Preschool, 1208 S. Tyler St., Amarillo, TX 79101.
