Stanley Martinez

Stanley Martinez, 74, of Amarillo passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Cox Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Stanley was born on March 9, 1943 in Laredo to Estanaslado and Dolores Martinez. He moved to Dumas as a child, where he graduated from Dumas High School in 1961. He married Marynella Stacey on October 2, 1964. She preceded him in death on May 14,1996. Stanley attended West Texas State University, where he received his Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry in 1987. He worked for Southwestern Public Service Company as a chemist for over 20 years. He currently owned a small computer business, tinkering and selling computers and equipment. He was known to be highly intelligent, always seeking to learn new information and was a loyal and devoted friend to many. He married Virginia Roksandich in 2006. Stanley had been a member of the Amarillo Gem and Mineral Society. He is survived by his wife, Virginia Roksandich of Amarillo and her family; daughter, Kimberlin Shipman and husband Scott White of Amarillo; brother, Eduardo Martinez and wife Liz of Richmond, CA and sister, Inez Torrnenelli of Roseville, CA; step-daughter Joan Arnold - Roksandich and husband Art and their daughter Allison Roksandich. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marynella Martinez and his brother, Henry Martinez as well as many close friends.
