Starr Strader, 62, of Amarillo, passed away on Saturday December 25, 2021 in Amarillo. Memorial Services will be 3:00 PM Friday December 31, 2021 at Cox-Rowley funeral home, 4180 Canyon drive with Pastor Thomas McClendon officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Cox-Rowley funeral home.
Starr was born on October 9, 1959 in Amarillo to John and Dora Strader. She grew up singing in her church choir and had dreams of becoming a missionary. Starr was a devoted Christian who loved Jesus. She enjoyed caring for others and had a very loving heart, always willing to help those in need. Starr was a true caregiver to all those around her and you could depend on her for anything you needed. She was mostly carefree and was a happy go lucky person. Starr enjoyed playing bingo, gardening and working in the outdoors. She enjoyed her casino trips to New Mexico with her mother and sisters; they all maintained a close bond throughout their life. She was loved by so many and will be missed. Starr worked for fifteen years at Bivins nursing and also at Vibra Hospital for fifteen years.
Starr was preceded in death by her parents, and five small babies, Angela Jean Dumont, David Wayne Dumont, Dottie Janean Dumont and Joseph Strader Dumont and one miscarried baby.
Survivors include two brothers, John Strader and Glenn Strader (Jeanie); four sisters, Darlene Gowdy (Larry), Delene Rorebeck (Clifton), Lisa Rambo and Joni Hart all of Amarillo. Survivors also include a host of nieces, nephews and close friends .
