Stephen G. Hood

Steve was born on September 14, 1941 in Borger to Henry and Reba Hood. He married Jean Davis on May 6, 1992 in Amarillo. He received his Doctorate of Jurisprudence degree, practicing criminal law in Borger for over 10 years. He moved to Lubbock in 1997 before settling in Amarillo in 2004. Steve devoted his life to caring for others and worked as the Director of Inpatient Services at the PARC (Panhandle Addiction Recovery Center) at the VA Hospital, was a substance abuse counselor at Texas Department of Criminal Justice for over 10 years as well as teaching at Amarillo College for over 25 years. He is survived by his wife, Jean Hood of Amarillo; son, Steve Hood, Jr. and wife Misty of Pampa; daughter, Robin Bailey and husband Nathan of Pampa; daughter, Brandie Chambless; 7 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers, Henry, Robert and Jack Hood.
