Sue Grace Cox Baird, 89, of Amarillo, passed away on November 19, 2025. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Saturday, November 22, 2025 at Cox Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive with Pastor Ron Boyer officiating. Burial to follow at 1:00 PM, in Mobeetie, Texas. The family will receive friends at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 21, 2025.

Sue was born in Paris, Texas on September 5, 1936 to Josh and Bessie Cox. Her family later moved to Pampa, Texas, where she met and married the love of her life, H.L. (Buster) Baird. Sue and Buster married on September 3, 1960 in Pampa. Together they shared 67 wonderful years of precious memories. She truly enjoyed raising her 4 precious children. Sue was the best mother, sister, wife and friend anyone could ever ask for. She was quite proud of her family, 5 generations to be exact. Sue was a beautician by trade while Buster worked for the Santa Fe Railroad. In her free time Sue loved to quilt, read, cook, crochet and sew. She enjoyed going to casinos, antique shopping and garage sales. She was the peacemaker, always ready to help anyone who needed it and loved by everyone who had the honor of knowing her. Her favorite saying was “always be kind and be truthful”.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Josh and Bessie Cox; her son, Mark Baird; and her brothers, Josh Cox Jr.; Roy (R.H.) Hall; Carl Cox; Wallace Cox and Glen Cox.

Sue was survived by her devoted husband, Buster of the home; her daughters, LaWanna Baird Reynolds of Amarillo, Texas; Darla Keller and husband Eddy of Amarillo Texas; her son, Doug Baird and wife Lisa of McKinney, Texas; her brother, Danny Cox and wife Vickie of Norman, OK; her 6 grandchildren, Dwyn Miller and wife Cami; Tyler Harned and wife Ashlyn; Caitlyn Harned; Josh Kirby; Tiffany Hanks and husband Neal; Jordyn Baird and one great-great grandchild. Survivors also include a host of many nieces, nephews and cousins.
