Sue Schaef

Sue Schaef, 68, of Amarillo passed away Wednesday, May 30, 2018. Funeral Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at Lighthouse Baptist Church; 5631 Pavillard. The family will receive friends for visitation from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, June 4, 2018 at Cox Funeral Home. Sue was born on July 1, 1949 in Dumas, Texas to Ozell Lee and Emma Clark. Sue attended River Road High school through the 9th grade. She married Johnny Schaef on February 25, 1965 in Amarillo, Texas. Sue had been a loyal member of Lighthouse Baptist Church for the last 10 years, she loved her church and church family. Sue's hobbies included painting, working in her yard and helping any child in need. Coming from and marrying into a family of 10 brothers and sisters, no one loved her family more. She was a loving person, who never met a stranger. Sue will be remembered as a loving and patient wife, mother, grandmother and friend; who loved spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Sue will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and son, Johnny Lynn Schaef Jr. Sue is survived by her husband, Johnny Schaef; sons, Bobby and Darrell Schaef; granddaughter, Kandi Hess; grandsons, Colby and Jarrett Schaef. In lieu of flowers the family encourages memorial contributions to your favorite children's charity.
