Susan Kay (Dollar) Prescott

January 26, 1959 — March 18, 2025

Amarillo

Susie K. Prescott, 66, of Amarillo, passed away on Tuesday, March 18th, 2025. Celebration of Life Services will be held at a later date.

Susie was born January 26, 1959, in Perryton, Texas to Carold and Lucille Dollar. She grew up in Perryton, until moving to Amarillo in her teen years. Susie started her family early and was endlessly devoted to caring for them. She has spent the last 34 years building a life with Joey Prescott. She worked for and danced alongside her soul friend, Nancy deJongh, creating beautiful weddings. During that time, she began working for another dear friend, Marci Abrahamson, at Cafe Moonwater, where she managed the kitchen, cooking and baking; a job she enjoyed immensely.

Susie was a lover of antiques, which she collected and sold for many years. She worked at several antique stores along 6th St. in Amarillo. She was an avid dog lover and will be sorely missed by her fur babies, Bandit and Jenny, and her granddogs, Donatella, Iris, and Eros.

Susie loved people and will always be remembered as being a very selfless person. She enjoyed giving of her time and talents to lend a hand and help others. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Susie was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Terry Dollar; two sisters, Penny Hummer and Carol Ann Martinez; and her friend, father of her children and grandfather to her grandchild, Mike Hanson.

Survivors include her husband, Joey Prescott; her son, Miachel Hanson (Laurie Thomas) of Salt Lake City, UT; her daughter, Lesley Brandt (Russ Brandt) of Amarillo, a brother, Phil Dollar (Lori Dollar) of Perryton, TX; a sister, Sherri Howell (Ronnie Howell) of Melissa, TX; a grandson, Kaden Milbern (Daumenique Carranza) of Oklahoma City, OK; many nieces, nephews, and close friends and in-laws that she loved dearly.
