Susan Johnson

Susan was born in Delaware, OH to Calvin W. Sanford and Barbara Ann Tobener Sanford on October 29, 1957. As the daughter of a career United States Air Force officer, she lived in Delaware, Ohio, San Antonio, Waco, Russelsaheim, Germany, Wiesbaden, Germany, Bloomington, IN, Boca Raton, FL and Abilene. She graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene in 1976 and graduated from Sam Houston State University in 1980 with a degree in Education and Journalism. She taught at Sweetwater High School in Sweetwater, TX. She worked for the Dallas Morning Newspaper in Dallas, Texas, where she won many awards. She married Hal Reede Johnson on November 16, 1991 in Amarillo, TX. She graduated from West Texas State University in Canyon, TX in 1994 with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught kindergarten in Amarillo, Texas. Susan is survived by her husband; Hal Reede Johnson of Amarillo; her parents, Calvin W. and Barbara A. Sanford of Abilene and her 3 brothers, Dr. Douglas W. and Elaine A. Sanford of Irving; Dr. Craig D. and Ratda Sanford of McClean, Virginia, and Scott A. and Debbie N. Sanford of Abilene; plus numerous nieces and nephews.
