Susan Shutt

Mrs. Susan Shutt, 73, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, March 14, 2018. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday at Cox Funeral Home, 4180 Canyon Dr. with Pastor Doug Gehm of Grace Church officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Susan was born April 27, 1944 in Amarillo to Carl and Dealie Stultz. She graduated from Amarillo High School, and earned her LVN degree through St. Anthony's Hospital. She married Theodore "Ted" Shutt on June 1, 1962. She worked as a nurse at the Osteopathic Hospital and Texas Tech Family Medicine, where she retired from in 2008. Susan enjoyed going to garage sales and thrift store shopping. She also loved collecting cookbooks. Survivors include her daughter, Janet Abbott and husband John of Amarillo; her son, Dr. Bryce Shutt of Waco; two sisters, Carol Stafford and husband Richard of Canyon, and Terri Leisy and husband Michael of Amarillo; a brother, Robert Stultz and fiancée Sue Sloan of Amarillo; two grandchildren, Aaron Young of Amarillo, and Kaila Cumpston and husband Johnathan of Aurora, CO; six great-grandchildren; and several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. The family suggests memorials be made to Boys Ranch, 600 SW 11th Ave. Amarillo, TX 79101.
