Sylvia Gleason

Sylvia Gleason, 83, of Amarillo, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, November 12, 2020 at St. Joseph’s Church, 4122 S. Bonham St. Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 PM on Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at Cox-Rowley Funeral Home Chapel, 4180 Canyon Drive. Sylvia was born July 12, 1937 in Brooklyn, New York to Santos and Aida Antonetti. She married John Gleason on July 19, 1958. She worked for Texas Tech Health Sciences Center. In her spare time, she enjoyed doing crochet. Sylvia was always active in her church. She was a member of the St. Joseph’s Altar Society, and made rosaries for the Rosary group at St. Thomas Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Gleason; her son, John Gleason; three brothers, Santos Antonetti, Victor Antonetti, and Richard Antonetti; and a sister, Aida Caspiello. Survivors include her daughter, Denise Garcia and husband Martin of Cactus; two grandsons, Lance Martello of Cactus, and Anthony Martello and wife Ashely of Amarillo; a sister, Rosemary Drew of Brooklyn, NY; and seven great-grandchildren, Tyler John Martello, Rileigh Conway, Josiah Conway, Maddisyn Mckynzie Barrett, Bentley John Martello, Miya Brooklyn Martello, and Stella Rose Martello.
