Terry was born May 2, 1947 in Altus, Oklahoma to Jack and Marie Kirby. He served his country honorably, as a Marine artilleryman during the Vietnam War. After arriving home, he did various jobs in law enforcement, ranching, construction and finally settling on plumbing, which he did for 40 years. Terry was a tireless public servant, who worked hard for the needs of local area veterans and their families through the Honor Flight organization and as president of the Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 297. He was instrumental in the building of the Texas Panhandle War Memorial, and in raising awareness about Agent Orange and it's adverse health effects. Terry was a proud member of the Choctaw Nation, and represented his native heritage with pride. Lastly, he loved children, helping to spearhead the annual Kid's Fishin' Tournament for kids and families around the panhandle area. He is preceded in death by his father, a daughter, Kelli Howe and a son, Kevin Howe.
He is survived by his children, Erick Kirby of Houston, Sunni Kirby of Amarillo, Crystal Keiser
of Nebraska, Briana Greer of Amarillo, Ashley Johnson of Bellville, Nick Bustamante of Amarillo, Alaina Sinclair-Kirby of Amarillo; his mother, Marie Toler of Amarillo; his grandchildren, Todd Kirby, Devin Love, Amber Love, Trevor Howe, Rebecca Miller, Trinity Howe, Logan Day, Courtney Kain and Christina Cook, Zachary Greer II, Lilli Greer, Christian Johnson; and 15 great grandchildren; also surviving him are his siblings, Linda Branum of Amarillo, David Toler and wife Fredia of Amarillo, April News of Tulsa, Kelly Toler and wife Rosa of Ingram, TX, Johnny Toler and wife Cheryl of California, Joddie Toler of Wisconsin; his step mother, Angie Kirby of Amarillo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
