Thomas "Tom" Battreall

August 14, 1929 — September 2, 2015

Tom was born August 14, 1929, in Delaware, Ohio, to Alice and Clarence Battreall. He moved to Texas in the early 1940's. He served with the Texas National Guard, being discharged as a Sergeant First Class. He lived and worked in the Amarillo, Borger and Pampa areas, and while in Pampa, worked at Reeves Oldsmobile as a Parts Manager. He then moved to Guymon, Oklahoma in the early 1970's, where he worked at Nash Brothers Motor Company for many years as a Parts Manager. He later moved back to Amarillo in 1986, where he worked for Plains Chevrolet as a Parts Manager. He married Lois McReynolds in Amarillo on May 20, 1993. After retiring from Plains, he worked as a deliverer for many years with Scott's Flowers, where he made many cherished friends. Tom's passion was making people laugh and helping others as much as possible. He was very active throughout his life, and enjoyed many activities such as square dancing, playing cards, loved being outdoors, and loved watching many sports such as football, baseball, and horse racing. He was an active member of Washington Avenue Christian Church, where he worked with the Outreach Center. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Lois, infant brother Clarence Collier, sister Delores Hudgens, daughter Sonja Battreall and nephew Mike Hudgens. He is survived by his daughter, Tammy Brothers, her husband Joel, and grandson Ryan of Ventura, California; and by a sister, Donna Chisum and her husband Calvin of Battle Mountain, Nevada; and nephews John Chisum of Arvada, Colorado and Walter Chisum of St. Louis, Missouri; and dear friends Mara and Mike Boyer of Amarillo, Texas.
