Thomas "Tommy" Beam

Thomas "Tommy" Beam, 84, of Amarillo, died Wednesday, November 29, 2017. Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Monday at First Baptist Church Sanctuary, 1208 S. Tyler St. with Dr. Howard K. Batson and Rev. Corky Holland officiating. Tommy was born October 16, 1933 in Stamford, Texas to Cameron and Louise Beam. He graduated from Wellington High School and attended Texas Tech University. He married Marilyn Dickey in Wellington in 1955. He proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1955-1957. Tommy worked for Amarillo Oil and Pioneer Production for 25 years. He and Marilyn have been long-time members of First Baptist Church, where Tommy served as a deacon. After his retirement, Tommy worked for the Family Life Center at the church for 24 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed doing yard work. Through the years, he loved the many poodles they had, most recently "Molly". Tommy was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Louie Beam. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Beam; a son, Brent Beam and wife Shelly of Amarillo; two daughters, Leigh Ann Newman and husband Jeff of Tulsa, and Linda Bulkley of Paragould, AR; a brother, Cameron "Bubba" Beam of Denton; ten grandchildren, Greg Waller, Brittain Beam and wife Tiffany, Conner Beam, Kiefer Waller, Matthew Newman, Rachel Newman, Daniel Bulkley and wife Olivia, Emily Bulkley, Andrew Bulkley, and Grace Bulkley; and four great-grandchildren.
