Thomas John Hernandez, 75, of Amarillo, passed away Friday, November 15, 2019. Thomas was born March 8, 1944 in Pigeon, Michigan to Eligio and Carmen Levario Guzman. He worked as a bricklayer his whole adult life. Thomas was a very hard worker and enjoyed working. He used to say, “No time to be tired. You can rest when you’re dead.” Every stone he laid meant something to Thomas. He was the life of the party, and loved to go dancing. His laugh was unforgettable. Thomas would give his last dollar to someone in need. He was a joy. He adored his mom and was a loving father and doting grandfather. He never missed out on his grandkid’s activities. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Joe Peter Hernandez and Ramond Guzman and three sisters, Alberta Hernandez Salazar, Jackie Hernandez and Patsy Beehler. He is survived by his wife Rosalie Hernandez; his son, Jesse Vargas and wife Rachel; seven brothers, Jerry Hernandez, Johnny Hernandez, Tony Hernandez, Resendo Hernandez, Manuel Guzman, Jessie Guzman and Ruben Guzman; four sisters, Mary Romero, Annie Little, Lupe Hampton and Lucy Garcia and four grandchildren, Olivia Vargas, Josh Lara, Kaiden Vargas, and Jordan Vargas.
