Tom Vinton

May 31, 1933 — December 12, 2016

Tom was born in Rockdale, Texas. He graduated from Milano High School. He proudly served in the U.S. Army. He moved to Amarillo in 1963. He married Joan Hagler in 1982 at Clovis, NM. Tom worked for Southwestern Portland Cement Co. for over 20 years. He then went to work for J. Lee Milligan Construction. He was also employed at Cellular One. He served as president of the Bushland School Board. Tom loved fishing and golfing. He also enjoyed watching football and closely followed high school volleyball. Tom was a very loving and caring person. He was a friend to everyone he met and will be greatly missed. Survivors include his wife, Joan Vinton; 4 sons, Jeff Vinton and wife Nancy of El Paso, Miles Vinton and husband Joe of Dallas, Jeff Hagler of Walsh, CO, and Adam Hagler of Amarillo; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by 5 brothers and 2 sisters. The family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, 3915 Bell St, Amarillo, TX 79109.
