Tommie Arnett

Sonny was born on January 16, 1936 in Cushing to Fred and Carrie Arnett. He was raised in Cushing and attended school there before moving to Plainview. He worked as a farmer in the Plainview area for many years before his employment at IBP, where he retired in the early 1990's. Sonny enjoyed hunting and was a talented gardener, producing a successful garden each year. He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Plainview since 1975. Most of all, Sonny loved spending time with his grandsons and was a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother. He is survived by 4 sons, Tommy Ray, Greg, Patrick and Floyd Arnett, all of Lufkin; 2 daughters, Patricia Arnett of Henderson and Amy Atchison of Amarillo; mother of his daughter, Amy, Shirley Arnett of Lubbock; 3 sisters, Charlene Williams, Ruby Nell Lewis and Freddie Lee Rose, all of Houston; brother, Lonnie Greer of Houston; 9 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 children; 1 grandchild and 2 brothers
