Truett "Pippi" Pritchett was born December 1, 1919, in Motley County. He graduated from Flomot High School and later served four years in the US Army. Truett, a veteran of WWII, was stationed in the Aleutian Islands. After returning from war, he married Haunera Arthur of Dickens, TX, in 1947. She preceded him in death in November 1993. Truett retired from Pantex in 1986 and later filled his time driving a school bus for Claude ISD. He was a member of the Church of Christ where he served as Deacon for many years.
Loved ones refer to him as "Pippi", a nickname that represents the wonderful memories of reading to his grandchildren, fishing trips, singing songs, telling stories, being a jokester and playing dominoes. He never met a stranger and was a beautiful soul that loved unconditionally. He will be greatly missed, but most certainly his memory will live on through all those who knew him.
He is survived by His daughters Sherry Bell and Lessie Griffin; his sons Palm Pritchett and wife Lorraine and Buster Pritchett and wife Joy. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren and his brother Bill Pritchett.
He was preceded in death by His wife, Haunera Pritchett and son Stephen Pritchett; brother, Robert Pritchett and sister Gene Kingston.
